There are no Life Coaching Schools as such, which would be schools wholly dedicated to life coaching, however there are specialists education providers such as Positive Success Group (PSG) that do provide all the training you could want and need.
One of the places PSG has taken their life coaching is into schools and colleges. Who better to receive skills in life coaching than school-goers?
The skills of life coaching are tremendously helpful to adolescents who are trying to make life choices. How can you make decisions about your life at such an important age and stage without knowing who you are and what you want to do with your life?
Some of the questions we put to the school goers are :
- Who am I?
- What makes me who I am?
- What are my core values?
- What does success mean to me and how do I measure it and achieve it ?
We also look at
- What do I want to avoid?
- How will I prevent it happening?
- What are my priorities and how will I stay focused and motivated?
Another key topic when bringing life coaching to schools is communication
Stephen Covey writes “ Seek first to understand then to be understood” (from 7 Habits of Highly Effective People). Miscommunication is usually down to lack of listening and empathy. We work with the school goers to understand what they can do to improve their communication, whether they are delivering the message or receiving a message.
