What can you get out of a Life Coaching Course?
We get asked this question a lot.
The first thing you need to ask yourself is what do you want from a life coaching course.
The sorts of things people want vary from
- Self Awareness
- Being able to make decisions better
- Understanding human behaviour
- Getting balance in their lives
- Knowing how to look at their career perspectives
Each course should have a structure where by certain topics are covered – these will help you decide which course to go for.
What sort of topics are covered in a life coaching course?
You can expect to look at your life from a holistic viewpoint which will take in to consideration topics such as
Career – Money – Health – Relationship – Support –Personal Development – Fun and Recreation – Home and work environment – Spirituality – Behaviour –Self Awareness
Some courses work on all topics, some devote their course to just one topic such as Personal Development or Career
Each course will therefore attract different types of people depending on the topics covered
What type of people take a Life Coaching Course
- People who want to invest in bettering themselves.
- People who want to find out more about what makes them unique.
- People who want to be more confident.
- People who want to communicate their strengths to others.
- People who want to enjoy life and get more fulfilment out of what they have.
- People who want to find their passions in life.
So really – all types of people.
What can I expect to pay for a Life Coaching Course?
The shorter courses tend to be part time classes from 6 to 10 weeks – each class being about 2 and a half hours long – you may receive a certificate of attendance
You can do more intense short courses – 5 to 10 days and receive a Coaching Certificate and/or FETAC award
The more substantial courses range from 3, 6 and 9 months and you can receive a FETAC award and/or a Diploma
My experience is that some of the short – introduction to coaching courses can be anything from self help workshops to accredited certificate courses so please do your research.
You can expect to find courses prices ranging from €90 to €12,500
The workshops are the cheapest and the designer label qualifications are most expensive
What I suggest is you invest in yourself and your needs.
Is it necessary to pay the higher limits – over €10,000 I dont’ believe so. You can obtain an excellent qualification for example an Accredited Diploma for between €2,500 and €3,000.
The majority of professional diplomas carry the same weigh in credibility and business recognition so don’t be sucked in by the labels !!
